Cousins Maine Lobster

I first had Cousins Maine Lobster at a food truck event in Oxnard, California. When I found out that they launched in Los Angeles and their first ever restaurant was opened in West Hollywood, I knew I had to write about it!

Their first food truck launched in 2012 to fill the void of authentic New England cuisine in LA. Not long after starting, cousins Jimmy and Sabin appeared on the reality TV show, Shark Tank, and convinced Barbara to invest in their business. 7 years later, Cousins Maine Lobster has 10 locations and 28 food trucks all over the United States!

Cousins Maine Lobster, West Hollywood: Exterior

You order at a counter and seat yourself. The restaurant is pretty small, but it wasn’t too crowded when I went on a weekday for lunch. There is also outdoor patio seating available. The restaurant itself has a cool, industrial feel, with pops of red. You can get 1 hour free parking with validation in the Ramada Parking Garage Next door.

Cousins Maine Lobster, West Hollywood: Interior

I’d recommend getting one of the lobster rolls when you go. A Maine lobster roll is served cold with mayonnaise, and a Connecticut lobster roll is served warm with butter. I typically prefer Connecticut’s version, but seeing as this is Cousins MAINE Lobster, I decided to go with the former this time. It was delicious! There was a generous amount of lobster and a sparse amount of mayo, just the way I like it! I also upgraded to a combo, which includes either fries or tots. I got the tots which were nicely seasoned with a great crunch. The combo also came with coleslaw (average), a pickle, and a drink.

I’ve also tried the Connecticut Lobster Roll and the Lobster Bisque from the Cousins Maine Lobster food truck (not pictured). Both were fantastic!

I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Cousins Maine Lobster!
