LACMA

Probably one of the most instagrammed museums in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has been a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Urban Light

The Urban Light exhibit outside of LACMA is perhaps the most popular spot for photographs. Urban Light was first installed in 2008 and has been an LA destination ever since. It is designed by the artist Chris Burden (1946-2015) and made up of 202 historic street lamps collected from all over Southern California. For the 10th anniversary of the instillation, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation replaced all of the lightbulbs with LED lights, resulting in approximately 90% in power savings and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. And you don’t need a museum ticket to see them!

Andy Warhol

Within the museum, they also have a collection of Andy Warhol paintings, including his famous Campbells Tomato Soup can. Part of why I love LACMA is that they have a variety of Modern and more classic art pieces.

LACMA

I would recommend purchasing tickets for the museum online. Especially if you want to go on the weekend, there can be a pretty long line to get into the museum. Definitely purchase tickets in advance if you want to see a special exhibit that LACMA is hosting. Urban Lights is undoubtedly the most popular, but LACMA has a lot of great art inside its walls as well.
