The Best Cupcakes in L.A.

susies-cupcakes

Los Angeles has a lot of wonderful cupcake shops, but my favorite is Susie Cakes! They make their desserts daily, in-house and advertise their commitment to old-fashioned recipes and fresh ingredients.

Susie’s Cupcakes

Part of why I love Susie’s Cupcakes is because they pipe their delicious cream cheese frosting into the middle of their cakes, so there is a lovely well of frosting in the middle of your cupcake. My favorite flavors are mint and peanut butter. I also like their new peanut butter and jelly cupcake as well. My sister’s favorite is the red velvet, my dad’s is mocha, and my mom likes strawberry or lemon. Those are my family’s favorites, but honestly, I haven’t had a bad cupcake at Susie’s. The cakes are spongy and moist and the frosting is creamy and soft (sometimes I feel like frosting on cupcakes are a little hard, but not Susie’s).

Susie’s Cupcakes: mint, birthday cake, lemon, mocha

You can tell my family really loves this cupcake place because this year, both my sister and my mom have celebrated their birthdays with Susie’s Cupcakes. The birthday cupcake is also really wonderful. It is a vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Susie’s Cupcakes: Calabasas Exterior

I usually go to the one in Calabasas, but there are 7 different locations in the Los Angeles area, and 11 in Southern California.
