Things to Do, Things to Eat

Grand Central Market

One of the coolest places in Los Angeles is Grand Central Market. Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, Grand Central Market is filled to the brim with some of LA’s best eats! And that’s why I decided to celebrate my 2 year anniversary of this blog at Grand Central Market, with 2 scoops of McConnell’s ice cream!

Grand Central Market offers some paid parking in an underground lot, but I usually prefer to park at one of the neighboring above-ground lots or try for street parking.

Grand Central Market Exterior

Grand Central Market was opened in 1917. It originally functioned as more of a grocery store, with stalls mostly filled with fishmongers, butchers and green grocers selling goods to the residents who lived in the Victorian Manors that once covered Bunker Hill. Today, the 30,000 square foot arcade has evolved to include ready-to-eat restaurants with counters from some of the best chefs in Los Angeles.

Some of my favorite stands are: McConnell’s Ice Cream (my favorite ice cream, originally from Santa Barbara), Egg Slut (https://www.lavitabloger.com/egg-slut/), Ramen Hood (vegan ramen and pho), Sticky Rice (Thai comfort food), and Horse Thief Barbecue (as seen on Dinners Drive-ins and Dives). But I haven’t had a bad meal at Grand Central Market yet!
