McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream

I’m a big fan of ice cream. It’d be hard for me to definitively chose a favorite ice creamery in Los Angeles. We have a variety of delicious soft serve, gelato, and traditional ice cream shops and I’ve thoroughly enjoy every single ice cream I’ve ever tried. However, if pressed, I think I’d choose McConnell’s.

McConnell’s was founded in Santa Barbara in 1949 by a husband and wife duo. Their mission was to make ice cream using local, seasonal ingredients when the rest of the world was using artificial flavoring and preservatives. 70 years later, McConnell’s still maintains its commitment to delicious, innovative flavors made from local, simple ingredients. The brand has since expanded to open multiple storefronts in Southern California and is even sold in grocery stores throughout the United States.

McConnell’s Ice Cream Case in Grand Central Market

There are currently four McConnell’s locations in Los Angeles; Studio City, Los Feliz, Pacific Palisades, and Grand Central Market in Downtown LA. Most recently, I visited the McConnell’s in Grand Central Market (https://www.lavitabloger.com/grand-central-market/).

Every flavor that McConnell’s makes is great, but some of my favorites are Peppermint Stick, Double Peanut Butter Chip, Turkish Coffee, and Salted Caramel Chip. This time, I opted for Mint Chip. The ice cream is light and the flavors are strong. You can tell that a lot of care and attention to detail goes into making this ice cream!
