The Soraya

the-soraya

The California State University of Northridge (CSUN) recently opened a new performing arts center called the Soraya. It is one of the few top tier performing arts centers in the Valley, and is one of the best new centers in Los Angeles, offering easy accessibility and a wide variety of acts.

There is plenty of nearby, convenient parking on campus that patrons of the Soraya are permitted to use during their visit.

The interior of the Soraya reminds me of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Both venues use beautiful wood designs to maximize acoustics.

I have seen 2 shows at the Soraya. The first was the Unpeeled concert tour by Cage the Elephant. The second show was the famous Beatles cover band, the Fab Faux. Both were lively, engaging shows that were made even more fun because of the small venue, great acoustics, and easy parking.

This season, there are performances by Cirque Eloize, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ballet Folclórico Nacional de México de Silvia Lozano, Ballet West’s Giselle, and so much more! I can’t wait to go back and experience more of the culture that LA has to offer from the convenience of the San Fernando Valley.
